Eaton Multi-generational Net Zero
residential i net zero
Family friends invited us to help them re-imagine expanded living space for a fast-growing multi-generational family in Eaton. The old farmhouse and small camp weren’t enough for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren coming down the pike.
We renovated a small cabin, retired a second cabin and replaced it with a modern net zero home with three bedrooms. Fun collaboration with a local friend, and painter who did the landscaping brought the house into harmony with the existing old cape and barn.
This was the first time we ever used Tilt/Turn european style windows and the first time (along with Lancaster DER) that we used an air source heat pump. Our HVAC installer cautioned that the unit we spec’d for the house was designed for only one room. He didn’t understand how efficient the building would be!
See Cabin Renewal for another project on site.
