Bethlehem DER
residential i deep energy retrofit i renovation
Enter Garland Mill. We replaced all the windows with updated triple-paned windows, built a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom on the first floor as well as an office with hand carved saloon doors. Upstairs we renewed the main bedroom/bathroom suite and two other bedrooms. Final touches were a new entry, firewood storage porch, and reclaimed an old cabin.
Lots of different species of wood were introduced into this home: red oak, butternut, yellow birch, beach, hickory, cherry, rock maple to name but a few. Leaning into our love of craft we designed and built an insulated, mixed-species hardwood front door, an arched bedroom door of cherry, and an ash ships-stair to the loft.
