Forest Lake
Net Zero
residential i lake house i net zero
Net Zero retirement home designed on a very small lot with a dilapidated camp close to a popular North Country Lake. We demolished the camp and dug the footings for the home. In the digging we found the water table to be high and the soils strewn with large stones. The stones were re-used in a stone walls and a mammoth fire pit for the high school age son and his friends to enjoy.
Originally from Florida, the homeowner wanted some native Floridian terrazzo for an entry. A local craftsman seeded the concrete with colored flakes and other aggregate and stained it blue! A single-car garage with ample storage and a nice dock out into the lake complete this lovely home.
