Garland Mill is an integrated architecture and building company that specializes in the design and construction of high performing buildings. We primarily work in New Hampshire’s North Country and the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Our work encompasses renovation, new construction and occasionally a light commercial project. Most of our buildings are either Net Zero or Passive House inspired. In addition, we prioritize accessibility, clean, local materials, and long term relationships with our employees, the community, trade partners, and clients.

Lead Carpenter

Garland Mill is looking for a full-time Lead Carpenter with at least 5 years of hands-on carpentry experience.

Pay Range: $31.00– 41.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time

Required skills and experience

• 5 years plus experience
• excellent rough and finish carpentry skills
• effective communication skills with clients, crew, trades and management – email, text, phone and in person.
• experience running a crew, scheduling trades, organizing inspections effective problem solving & ability to plan ahead understanding of building science; ability to execute advanced framing, air sealing, and weatherization techniques
• ability to plan and execute material/framing layouts
• budget and time tracking; reporting to management track record of running a safe, clean, efficient job site ability to take initiative when needed and show good judgement
• ability to lead a job site team that is cohesive, mutually respectful, and works well together
• OSHA 10 and preferably OSHA 30 certification
