Lancaster Cow Barn

Classic 24’ x 30’ rough timber frame barn featuring square rule joinery, double dutch-style doors and a heavy plank hay loft with center access. All timbers and planks sawn by water power at the Garland Mill—only 3 miles upstream from the farmstead they now stand on. The traditional wooden sash windows and hand-built doors and ventilation louvers make for a light and airy barn located in a breezy meadow under the shadow of the majestic Kilkenny mountain range. Sturdy double boarded walls (pine interior and white cedar exterior) and a steel roof will keep Farmer John’s critters, and maybe even a barn dancer or two, safe and dry for many moons to come.
